Poland and Spain – Border Countries of the European Union is a significant publication. In difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic Europe – more than ever before – must be aware of its unity and solidarity. Undoubtedly, knowledge of the European Union`s states reality strengths this awareness. This publication allows getting acquainted with the political problems of its two peripheral states. Poles and Spaniards share a complicated history of the 19th century: a lack of the state and a time of deep crisis, respectively. Both nations experienced the tragic events of the 20th century. But Poland and Spain also have a successful democratic transition and accession to the European Union of which they are now essential members.

In collaboration with the most prominent specialists on the subject, including former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, prof. Jacek Czaputowicz. The quality and originality of the work is undoubtedly the best proof of the excellent work carried out by its coordinators, professors José Luis Orella and Małgorzata Mizerska-Wrotkowska.
